QUICK FIX: Josh Rosebrook Tinted Nutrient Day Cream

jr 2

This is a review I’ve been meaning to do for a long time now, but just haven’t ever managed to get around to! I bought US-based stylist Josh Rosebrook’s ‘Tinted Nutrient Day Cream’ along with his ‘Lift’ Hair Texture & Volume Spray earlier this year (I will get around to reviewing ‘Lift’ soon I hope!). Moisturising Must-Haves

winter

It’s common sense to keep your skin moisturised year-round, but winter seems to be a season of neglect because all we want to do is keep ourselves covered up at all times, so often moisturising routines get put on the backburner. I think the importance of moisturising should never be underestimated, so here are my four essential products for ensuring your skin stays healthy in winter. Read the rest of this entry »

BLEMISH BUSTERS: Natural treatments for blemish prone skin

bb

While blemishes are a fact of life, they are basically NEVER welcome visitors on anyone’s face. It seems as though we’ve all tried every trick in the book in an attempt to be rid of them; acne creams, tea tree oil, even toothpaste…
However, for many people these remedies have little to no visible or lasting results. Recently I have been testing out a couple of commercial natural blemish treatments, and I’ve had very different experiences with each. Before I get into it, I want to emphasise that skin types and chemical make-ups differ greatly from person to person, so what might be a wildly successful treatment for one person may do absolutely nothing for someone else, which is very important to remember when it comes to finding the right blemish treatment to suit your skin… Read the rest of this entry »

HERE’S MY HAIR: Original & Mineral styling products

OM

One, two, three, done!

Around 6 months ago I made the decision to chop 30cm off my hair! For many years I had extremely long hair and it became my signature feature, but in mid 2015 I got REALLY sick of the hassle of having thick, knotty-no-matter-what hair that I couldn’t do anything nice with hairstyle-wise due to the discomfort of its heaviness. I got the chop and donated my ponytail to charity so it could be used by someone who needed it more than I did, and for the first time in a very long time I had what I consider short hair (collarbone length)! While it has grown 6-8cm longer in the time since I had it cut, it is still much shorter than I am used to so I’ve had to get a LOT better at styling it. When my hair was long I did little more than just wash, brush and go, and it looked nice enough as it was without any heat styling. I very soon found that with short hair, I have to style it properly unless I want to walk around with an A-shaped head of hair. I’d been wanting to try Australian natural-based haircare brand Original & Mineral for ages but never did pre-cut because I knew I wouldn’t ever use the products; using anything in my long hair took a lot of effort (which I wasn’t willing to put in). However, post-cut I gave in and purchased one full-size product and three samples. A few of them have since become part of my regular haircare routine… Read the rest of this entry »

WHAT I BOUGHT: Green Organics

Green Organics

The lowdown:
I only recently heard about Green Organics, a little makeup and skincare shop in Sydney, located right near Wynyard Station in the Metcentre. If you’re a Sydney resident then check them out! They also have a great online store.

I think I hadn’t heard of them until recently because they don’t seem to do social media in a big way! Regardless, I was thrilled to find them. I was in heaven in their store! I was able to test out some products from some lovely brands that I’ve been interested in for ages.

Check it out: Read the rest of this entry »

REVIEW: Kjaer Weis Radiance Highlighter

Radiance

The lowdown:
I am very picky about highlighters/illuminators. The champagne-coloured glittery highlighters that dominate the market never seem to give me the natural ‘glow’ I’m after, which frustrates me more than it should.
Enter Kjaer Weis Radiance; a stunningly beautiful lavender-tinted cream highlighter.
When Radiance was released, I knew it was about time I treated myself to a splurge on a piece of high-end natural makeup. Read the rest of this entry »

REVIEW: Ere Perez Oat Milk Foundation

The lowdown:
The Ere Perez Oat Milk Foundation in the shade ‘light’ is my everyday foundation.
I am naturally quite pale, and this shade matches my skin perfectly.
However, I have found that I can still wear this shade after applying fake tan (which I am an avid user of).
The foundation seems to somewhat adapt to my skin tone, which I love. Read the rest of this entry »
